‘Concealed’ is an exploration of the lived experiences of black female nurses in the NHS. In the course of their everyday duties, they encounter institutionalised racism, prejudice, and abuse. As a member of the black community with mother who works within the NHS, it was important that this project brought attention to the context which the nurses work under. Sharing the unacceptable behaviours and attitudes which they receive during their everyday duties. ‘Concealed’ reveals the overlooked, silenced, and erasures that directly relate to their blackness and the attitudes held towards them by the medical institution.
